Allyson wins award

Allyson Diggins has won the Dissertation Research Award from the American Psychological Association (APA). Ms. Diggins’ dissertation is entitled “Understanding Physical Activity Behavior Among Black Female College Students: An Exploration of the Theory of Planned Behavior and PEN-3 Model”. The Science Directorate of the American Psychological Association sponsors an annual competition for dissertation research funding. The purpose of the Dissertation Research Award program is to assist science-oriented doctoral students of psychology with research costs. The current program includes 30-40 grants of $1,000 each, along with several larger grants of up to $5,000 to students whose dissertation research reflects excellence in scientific psychology. The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States, with around 117,500 members including scientists, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students.
