The past two weeks have been a challenging time for us all! We have all watched as COVID-19 has changed the way we live and work. These are stressful times. We are here to remind you to practice awareness.

Awareness is a practice of: focus in the present moment, in a non-judgmental manner in order to maintain connection to our mind and body, which supports physical and mental wellbeing.

At iRACE, we have learned:
• We are resilient.
• We adapt in times of crisis.
• We are strong.
• Social support, even at a distance, is great medicine for these times!

During this uncertain time, the iRACE Lab is practicing social distancing, but we are here by phone or email if needed.

Social distancing can be lonely and isolating. We are all susceptible to the melancholy of disrupted routine. The anxiety of the unknown, combined with misinformation, can exacerbate worry and stress. One thing for certain is catastrophizing makes it worse.

Take a break from social media and watching the news. In addition to basic hygiene, health foods, daily exercise, and rest can improve our overall wellbeing. It’s a good idea to stay in frequent contact with family and friends. Find at least one person who is grounded in practical information to talk about your concerns. Telehealth services are ramping up. Contact your healthcare professional to discuss your needs for telehealth.
