Please join us in our enthusiasm for Larry Burrell who successfully completed the rigorous, APA/APPIC internship matching process. Mr. Burrell will begin his new position as Resident in Behavioral Medicine at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs hospital this fall. He is thrilled about this new opportunity, as it will allow him to continue to work with the medically-underserved transgender population and other medically-underserved individuals. Moreover, Palo Alto is consistently ranked as one of the top psychological training sites in the country! Congratulations to Allyson Diggins on successfully matching to the Chronic Medical Illness track of the University of Florida’s Department of Clinical and Health Psychology’s Affiliated Internship Program for the Underserved! During her internship year, she will focus on the provision of brief targeted evidence-based interventions to underserved patients during their medical appointments, coordinating care between multiple disciplines, providing feedback to patients and providers and consulting with other services. She is ecstatic about receiving superb training related to the treatment of patients with chronic pain, chronic illnesses, and those pursuing bariatric surgery. Allyson is excited about continuing her training at the University of Florida and taking the next step toward an academic career incorporating health disparities research and clinical practice.
